About Hardingham Cricket Club

General

Hardingham Village Green

A village cricket club in the heart of rural Norfolk, our 1st team play on Saturdays in Division 3 of the Norfolk Alliance having secured another creditable mid table finish in 2014. Our 2nd team play in Division 3 of the Norfolk League whilst a third Saturday side play in Division 7 of the Norfolk League. We run two Sunday sides - one in the Mid Norfolk Sunday League and a friendly side playing around 10 games throughout the summer. We also enter a number of midweek 20-20 competitions and play this form of cricket throughout the summer. As a club, we endeavour to give each member as much or as little cricket as they wish to have.

During the season, we hold outdoor net practice on Friday evenings at the ground and during the winter, hold regular indoor net practices at Wymondham Leisure Centre.

However, there’s much more to Hardingham than just the cricket. The past few seasons have seen successful and popular end of season tours to such cricketing hotbeds as Cleethorpes, Hastings and Bournemouth that have provided great entertainment both to those who went on them, and to those who have heard stories about them!!! Rightly proud of the social side of our club, we hold popular and often quite riotous Start of Season/Mid Season/End of Season Social evenings at the club whilst our Annual Presentation Dinner held after the close of the season is a consistently popular, well attended and entertaining event.

If you’re interested in what you’ve read about here, please have a look around the website to get a feel for what we’re about as a club. We are always on the lookout for potential new players of any standard, as well as social members who want nothing more at the weekend than to watch some cricket with a drink in their hand. Contact forms are available so if you’re interested, then please get in touch.

Facilities

Hardingham Village Green

Apart from the competitive standard of cricket that we play both on a Saturday and Sunday, and the very real emphasis on the social side of the game as well as the actual cricket, we are fortunate to enjoy excellent facilities in a classic village cricket setting.

Aside from the picturesque setting of our ground, these are a number of our other facilities:-

- An excellent/well prepared square; Dale Watson, Norfolk Cricket Board pitch officer who we brought in at the start of the 2009 season has done a tremendous job on our square. The club now enjoys excellent sporting wickets that gave encouragement to both batters and bowlers. Early indications for the 2015 season is that once again, the square is looking fantastic.

- Sightscreens at both ends of the square.

- A large and mostly even outfield.

- A very sound financial situation coming about mainly through our Licensed Bar.

- Two concrete Practice nets; both matting and the other a mobile net that allows us to have square practices during the season.

- The clubs own bowling machine paid for by the club and for the use of the club members.

- Mobile wicket covers.

- A brand new changing room facility with showers opened at the start of the 2011 season
