Hello all, I have an idea I'd like to run by you.
Long story short, I love cricket and I build websites for a living. For as long as I've been building websites I've developed, tweaked and then re-developed the HCC website in my spare time. The current records go back to the 2006 season, but past incarnations have pre-dated this.
I've put a lot of time and effort into this website over the years and I've recently been considering the possibility of opening it up to a wider audience. I want to make a better home for cricket club websites than the ECB endorsed play-cricket network, which I've always felt is somewhat lacking.
So, my question to you is; if I were to work on opening up the HCC website platform so that any club could sign up and use it in a similar fashion to how the play-cricket site currently works for the 2014 season onwards - would you be interested in using it?
Please get in touch to let me know your thoughts, whether your club might be interested or not, etc. And if you could help spread the word to any other club contacts who may not see this I'd really appreciate it. If I get enough interest I'll put up an online registration form so I can keep you informed on progress and let you know when you'll be able to sign up.
I'd really like to improve upon play-cricket - which I believe won't be too difficult. I believe online cricket websites can be A LOT better and I will happily listen to all user feedback with a view to further/continual improvement.
