Weather permitting...

Despite the weather limited early season fixtures It's been an exciting start for all three Saturday teams.
All three teams were victorious in their fixtures for the last two weekends to move into contention for promotion places. The First team currently occupy second spot and the A's and B's hold third in their respective divisions.
It has been a struggle getting the teams filled some weeks but with exam season drawing to a close and several young players returning from Uni I anticipate it will become easier.
There have been some notable performaces already this season with career bests and club records falling. Honours so far have gone to "The Legend" Stan Fowle who took 9 for 27 against Great Witchingham CC "Norfolks Number 1 Team" breaking the previous club record of 8 for 15. That followed a return from Uni for Matt Hastings leading the way with a career best 7 for 20 to destroy Melton A. The bowling continued with Toby Fletcher leading the first team from the front taking 8 for 25 against Garboldisham A and other notable performaces with the ball from Jamie Fowle taking all 6 wickets last Sunday against Littleport and Rod Eldridge with an economical 6 for 6 in the win over Swanton Morley A.
Batting performances have been a little more scarce but Chris Sparkes (102) opened his season with a century on the first weekend and Neil Harris (114) also notching up a ton last week in the victory over Ash and Barton wanderers. Steve Walton (94*) set a new personal best which sadly wasn't quite enough to help the A's avoid defeat on the first day of the season away to Blunderstain. The Scott brothers are also showing the way with the bat with Brendan racking up 3 half centuries (top score 80) and Jason 2 half centuries, the same as Robbie Fowle.
Momentum is clearly with us now and it's great to have such a positive feeling around the club again. In case anyone hasn't seen the Hardingham shake it's well worth a watch here:
