Tuesday 29th April 2014
Well, the 2014 season is finally underway with some positive results already. An enjoyable tour game started the summer with a nice win against Wilburton with runs and wickets shared around whilst this weekend saw the start of the Sunday season. The 1sts enjoyed a good win against Bunwell with runs for Rob and a maiden 5 wicket haul for Chris W - congratulations to him whilst the 2nds went down to a plucky defeat against a good Topcroft side; Ross claiming an unbeaten 50 and first wickets for the two Dans - one after a 13 year hiatus and the other his first wicket for the club.
Attention now tunrs to this weekend with the start of the Saturday season. The first team will be taking on Vauxhall Mallards A hoping to build on their successful season last year. The 2nds face a tricky game away to Kirkley and Lowestoft Railway whilst the 3rds take on a new challenge in Division 6 against Rocklands A. On Sunday, the 1sts will be taking on Diss in the Carter Cup hoping to provide an upset. As always, here's hoping for good weather and enjoyable games
Arguably the club is in its strongest position both on and off the pitch but like most other clubs, we are interested in attracting new players of all abilities to the club.
