It's taken a while not only for the sun to shine but also for both Saturday sides to notch up wins on the same day and this was achieved on Saturday. Away to Sprowston A, the 1sts backed up a committed and disciplined fielding and bowling display to chase down 170 despite a few wobbles at the end to notch up a win that eases their relegation fears.
At home, Al Quinton and Mark Plunkett stole the show putting together a partnership of 227 with Mark scoring his first half century for the club and Al his first hundred going onto a destructive 134. North Elmham A batted gamely in response but the win was never in doubt that keeps the 2nds promotion hopes alive.
Sunday saw the 2nds battle gamely against Quebec with the side already showing huge improvement from the start of the season - remember, this side has had 8 under 15s in it every game. For the 1sts, a creditable 21 run defeat away to Bungay with Shendy, the Bear, Hot Fuzz and Steven B all impressing with the bat; certainly we got more out of the game than the opposition did.
This weekend sees another big two league games on the Saturday - the 1sts away to Diss A and the 2nds home to League Leaders Lowestoft A. Another 2 wins would be fantastic - here's to hoping!
